Add-ons

What Auditor offers beyond reviewing, for a fee: for now, reviews posted under your own name. Shopify theme previews and theme documentation have pages of their own.

White label

By default reviews are posted by the Inference Bureau GitHub App under the name Auditor. With the white label add-on they are posted under a name, a picture and a command word of your own, and the text on the pull request no longer names Inference Bureau. Each comment keeps its Configure link to this dashboard, so your admins can still reach the settings; its address is the one place the Inference Bureau name remains. It costs $49 a month, taken from the team's balance when you turn it on and then monthly.

A name and picture on GitHub belong to a GitHub App, so yours come from an App your organization owns. Under White label on the Auditor page's Add-ons tab:

  • Turn it on with a name (the check run and every comment use it) and a command word (people write @your-word review; @auditor review keeps working).
  • Create the App on GitHub. GitHub makes it from here with the right permissions and asks an owner of your organization to confirm. Its credentials are stored encrypted and never shown.
  • Upload a picture in the App's settings on GitHub, then install it on the repositories it should review. A repository shared with both Apps is reviewed once, through yours; uninstall the Inference Bureau App from an account once yours is there.

The check run takes the new name, so update any branch protection rule that requires the Auditor check. Reviews, settings, rules, Directives and Logs work as before, and each review is still billed as inference.

Cancel keeps your name until the end of the month already paid for. If the balance cannot pay a renewal and auto reload is on, your saved card is charged to reload the balance (your reload amount, or the fee if that is more, within your daily and monthly limits) and the renewal goes through. With no card to charge, or a charge that fails, reviews keep running but say Auditor again; the fee is retried every day and whenever a review starts, for a week; your name returns as soon as it is paid, and after that week the add-on switches itself off.

Hide the cost of each review leaves the cost line out of the check run, for teams whose clients read their pull requests. Costs stay in Logs and Billing.
